LARDER LAKE TOURIST CENTRE AND HISTORICAL INFORMATION PHOTO CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS

1. CONTEST: The Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre Photo Contest is conducted by the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre, in affiliation with the Corporation of the Township of Larder Lake. The contest is open to all residents and visitors of Larder Lake, Ontario.

2. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the contest you must be:

a. At least eighteen (18) years of age OR have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

b. You are NOT eligible to win if you are an employee of the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre, however, entries are still welcome for display.

3. CONTEST SCHEDULE: The contest begins July 18th at 12:00pm and closes on August 8th at 5:00pm. Voting will stay open until August 12th at 9:00am. All submissions must be submitted by the closing time in order to be eligible for a prize.

4. THE PHOTOGRAPHS: Photographs are expected to adhere to the theme “Outdoor Recreation”. Creativity is encouraged and the entrant can take photos of anything related to outdoor recreation in Larder Lake, Ontario and the surrounding area.

5. HOW TO ENTER:

a. If under 18, the contestant must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Prizes cannot be claimed without the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

b. Once submitted, the photographs become property of the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre and will not be returned.

c. Any entries deemed to be late, illegible, incomplete, offensive, inappropriate or plagiarized will be removed from the contest.

d. Prizes will be award by community vote.

6. PRIZE DRAW DETAILS: Three prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded. The Winner(s) will be selected by community vote under the supervision of the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre. Winner(s) will be notified by email within (5) days following selection of Winner(s).  

7. NOTIFICATION: The Winner(s) will be contacted by email, and will be displayed on the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre Facebook page on Monday August 12th, 2019. If a winner does not claim their prize, or cannot be reached before Monday August 19th, 2019, the Tourist and Historical Information Centre has the right to select a new winner.

8. CONTEST MODIFICATION OR CANCELLATION: The Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre, in affiliation with the Corporation of the Township of Larder Lake, reserves the right to delay, terminate or alter the terms of the contest at any time, without prior notice due to circumstances beyond their control. These rules are subject to change to comply with any federal, provincial and municipal laws or policies having jurisdiction over the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre.

9. DISQUALIFICATION: It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that they comply with the terms of the contest, or their image will be disqualified. If it is found that the image is offensive in any way, it will be removed from the competition at the discretion of the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre.

10. PRIVACY: The personal information that’s collected is used and disclosed for the purpose of administering the contest. An institution shall not use personal information in its custody or under its control except,

a. if the person to whom the information relates has identified that information in particular and consented to its use;

b. for the purpose for which it was obtained or compiled or for a consistent purpose; or

c. for a purpose for which the information may be disclosed to the institution under section 32 or under section 42 of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  R.S.O. 1990, c. M.56, s. 31.

11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: By entering the contest, the entrant agrees that:

a. The content of the submission is his/her original work and does not contain any copyrighted materials, or where the content may not be their original work, the entrant has obtained the necessary permissions.

b. The photo can be used, non-exclusively, by the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre, as per the Media Release Agreement, on a world-wide, perpetual, royalty-free basis.

c. The Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Centre has the right to keep the photo within their historical collection, in both print and digital copy, and can use the submission as they see fit.

d. The right to reproduce, print, publish, edit or market the entry in all formats and mediums—including electronic media, social media and any media not currently devised—is granted by the entrant to the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information centre and the Corporation of the Township of Larder Lake.

12. MEDIA RELEASE: I hereby irrevocably grant to The Larder Lake and Historical Information Centre and The Corporation of the Township of Larder Lake, Corporations assigns, licensees and successors the right to use my image and name in all forms and media including composite or modified representations for all purposes, including advertising, trade or any commercial purpose throughout the world and in perpetuity. I waive the right to inspect or approve versions of my image used for publication or the written copy that may be used in connection with the images.

13. STATEMENT: By submitting your photo for the Larder Lake Tourist and Historical Information Photo Contest you state that:

a. You own all rights in the entry including copyright.

b. You meet the eligibility requirements of the contest; and

c. You have obtained consent from all individuals appearing on your photo, including from parents or legal guardian of minors
